Example - TOTAL CHAOS or ASHES AFTERGLOW. Those are games using the GZDOOM engine which powers DOOM2. Changing all original content and creating a completely new experience. You can do that yourself using universal mods and add-ons. This is my take on creating a LOVECRAFTIAN total conversion game using some of these mods. 1. I used EMINFARE weaponry. A new mod which has a pretty heavy lovecraft feel and theme. Manual Gatling gun, flint shot gun and so on. 2. Next comes the monster pack which belongs to that weapons mod called HYSTERIANS. I hope YouTube won't flag me for this since some of the monsters have ..let's say a "spicy" appearance. The sound design and looks of this one are absolutely fantastic and worth a try for everyone loving dark and gritty themed games. I really hope the developer continues working on this and ads more and more disgusting monsters. 3. I've added the absolutely amazing SCHOLOMANCE map. A reimagining of some WOW dungeon I think. Insanely high quality mapping and a bunch of linear arenas which throw dozens of monsters at you. I would advise you to not overdue it with graphical add-ons. I did and the result was this stuttery mess at the end of the video. 4. Of course the whole game, for me, isn't don't without a bunch of graphical add-ons/ gameplay mutators. New lighting, better colors, blur and bloom as well as shiny blood and a few more. Gameplay wise I've added SLOWMOTION and SLIDE and of course the absolute amazing GUN BONSAI ( https://github.com/ToxicFrog/doom-mods/blob/main/gun-bonsai/README.md ) which turns almost any GZ mod into an RPG giving you the option to upgrade your weapons as well as your suit with numerous abilities like Electro/Fire/poison/corrosion/flak or who knows what, turning you into an unstoppable killing machine.
