BLOOD but it’s a real horror game. I’ve used over 60 add-ons to make Bloods GZDoom version look like a real scary game. New lighting, new fog and new sound effects all add to the insanely deep and heavy atmosphere. Especially FX ENHANCEMENTS addon helps. Combined with RELIGHTING, an addon which adds dynamic lighting, shadows and reflections to maps are perfect to create something looking straight out of a 70th horror movie.

I’ve added PAINSLAYER weapons, an amazing sprite based PAINKILLER mod for doom. Not only has it a lot of awesome weapons all turned into pixelated sprites..it also has a card based upgrade system. I haven’t figured out how that works exactly cause I never found cards to add except the 3 you get on start. But it’s still awesome.

How did you get the ZBlood map pack to work with custom weapons? I thought it had its own set of weapons from Blood

KometFox don’t you know? You can load weapons packs on top of weapon packs as long as they don’t share lines of code or functions. Meaning, you can not only put a weapons mod on top of a total conversion, but you can also use more than monster mod which then allows for different enemies to load if there are monsters missing in the first one. Some maps have only spawn points for certain monsters and the rest is vanilla. In that case loading a second monster pack can help.

No I did not know it. I thought it was general knowledge you can’t load 2 different weapon mods at the same time due to name conflict or something which causes a crash. I never attempted to load 2 different mods at the same time which both contains weapons.

KometFox I’ve encountered it by pure accident. And now I can’t stop combining mods.

Hmm I guess then it is a unintended side effect or something. I avoid custom maps that contains edited weapons because those map custom weapons tend to be still pickupable/usable with the other custom weapon mod I am using.

Even though editing those custom weapon from the maps is trivial to do.

KometFox I need a few mappacks changed in that way. Sadly most TC devs don’t bother creating a vanilla friendly version of their maps. But I use IDKFA and prevent automatic pickup. That helps. It just kills progression

if I am not mistaken it should be possible to make a mini mod that replaces the custom content of the map with default doom 2 items or any other items. The raven mod patcher works like that. I haven’t looked the raven patcher mod myself yet but I think by cloning this mod and changing the raven items to whatever TC items is being used you should be able to have regular progression with whatever other mods you have running.

I am not sure though if the author of raven patcher mod has any words regarding of making a fork of his mod for the purpose to make it work with other maps. As in if its allowed to make a fork or not.
